Wait, what? Hear us out! Although it’s a show from the early 2000’s, Malcolm in the Middle is one of the most hilarious sitcoms of all time. It takes us back to a simpler time that many Americans can relate to growing up. Following the antics of a semi-crazy lower middle class family, this show is the perfect distraction you need from all the bad news in the world. Although the number of episodes may seem daunting, each episode is a quick 20 minutes so you can breeze through this show easily.

Warning: this show will have you rooting (and empathizing) for a serial killer. Another great anti-hero like Walter White from Breaking Bad, Dexter Morgan works for the Miami forensics team by day but doubles as a serial killer at night. Dexter however has a rule that separates him from other serial killers: he only murders those who are guilty. This show will have you on the edge of your seat, heart pounding, as you find yourself cheering on this mild-mannered murderer.
Mad Men (Netflix) – 7 Seasons, 92 Episodes – completed
Taking you back to 1960s New York, the show follows the creative director of a fictional Manhattan advertising firm, the smooth and very talented alpha male Don Draper. The show tracks Don and his relationships both in his professional and personal life. As time goes on within the series, it shows how the moods and social norms change in the United States. This show is widely regarded as one of the greatest television series of all time, having won 16 Emmys and 5 Golden Globes. Whether you’re watching it for the first or fifteenth time, Mad Men is an excellent binge-worthy show.
